OUR ABORIGINAL EDUCATION PROGRAM INCLUDES:

– Our Home-School Coordinator who works to strengthen our link between school and family

– Our Aboriginal Education Worker who supports our students of Aboriginal ancestry in their academic pursuits

– Carrier language classes for all Ecole W.L. McLeod Elementary School students.

– Integration of Aboriginal content throughout the curriculum.

 

ATHLETICS AT McLEOD INCLUDE:  

  • Basketball
  • Volleyball
  • Ultimate frisbee
  • Cross country
  • Track and field
  • Softball
  • Handball
  • Soccer
  • Floor hockey

Intermediate students participate in Vanderhoof/District-wide play days.

 

COUNSELLING

At McLeod Elementary School our part-time counsellor is Mrs. Toni Deganais. 

She is available for small group counselling and referrals for counselling with outside agencies. Please contact the school for more information.

 

FRENCH IMMERSION

 At Ecole W.L. McLeod Elementary School Skehhodul’eh we offer French Immersion in kindergarten to grade 6.  Students can begin in French Immersion in Kindergarten or Grade 1.

 

Our French Immersion program offers:

  • Communication skills
  • Fluency in two languages
  • Cultural appreciation

 

OUR LIBRARY

The McLeod Elementary School library is the centre of our school –figuratively and literally.  Our teacher-librarian is Mr. Jose Cayanan.  Our librarian's assistant is Mrs. Verna Harder.  Our library staff  is eager to hear from students and parents about ideas to help make our library even better.
