About Us
Every day we make a promise that sounds like this, “It's a new day at McLeod and I'm going to fill it with learning, kindness and caring being safe and being calm because ”we're all in this together!" This is the focus at our school.
Our school is located in Vanderhoof, B.C., the geographical centre of British Columbia. We are home to 270 students in Kindergarten to grade 6. We are a dual track school offering education in English and French.
We are a Community of Learners and we are very proud of our school especially our:
- Learning together including buddy classes, learning support and staff collaboration focused on student success.
 - Response to Intervention in literacy and numeracy to support struggling learners.
 - Full school activities including Carnaval, Pink Shirt Day activities, Christmas concert, school wide read to self and school wide Core Competency work
 - Fine arts program
 - Focus on food - breakfast, snack, hot lunch and weekend backpack through Feeding Futures, Breakfast for Learning, Fruit and Veggie Program and McLeod PAC.
 
Our Mission is to offer a positive, caring, learning environment that encourages respect, participation and opportunities to challenge individuals to reach personal excellence. Or like this:
